JediDirectory.com This young man was a direct descendant of Anakin Skywalker and his son, Luke Skywalker, and came into his own about 130 years after the Battle of Yavin. As the son of Kol Skywalker, Cade trained briefly as a Jedi Knight under Master Wolf Sazen. His training came to an end after the Jedi Temple on Ossus was destroyed in the wake of the Sith-Imperial War, when Darth Nihl launched a devastating attack on the Ossus compound. Nearly every Jedi Knight and Master was slaughtered by the Sith, until only Kol and Master Sazen remained alive. As they valiantly tried to hold off the Sith and allow Cade and a group of younglings to escape, Cade returned to Ossus with the belief that he could help them. Kol was forced to send his son back to the escape craft, ordering him to flee so that he would survive.

Cade returned to the ship with the dying body of Master Sazen, and became enraged that Sazen was about to die. Calling on his emotions, Cade unleashed a blast of Force Lightning to shock Master Sazen back to life. He then took a small fighter to defend the escape ship, and apparently died while diverting the Sith who followed them.

Somehow, though, Cade managed to survive the explosion of his fighter, and left the Jedi behind before joining a band of pirates who found him in orbit around Ossus. After dropping the Skywalker name to avoid any connection to his heritage, Cade then became a bounty hunter, but continued to struggle with his links to his past. He became addicted to death sticks, an addiction that employers like the Feeorin pirate, Rav, used to control Cade.

In addition to his physical demons, Cade was haunted by the spirit of his ancestor, Luke Skywalker, who came to him regularly in visions to implore Cade to fulfill his destiny. Cade, for his part, admitted to his ancestor that he feared his emotions would plunge him into the Dark Side of the Force, and refused to accept his heritage. He once threatened to take his own life, in order to put an end to Luke's ethereal visitations.

After a mission in which he delivered the renegade Jedi Hosk Tre'lyis to Rav, Cade's path crossed that of the exiled Imperial Princess, Marasiah Fel. He agreed to transport her from Socorro to Vendaxa, hoping to learn the location of her father and collect the incredible bounty on his head. On Vendaxa, their group was reunited with Shado Vao and Jedi Master Wolf Sazen. However, they were also being hunted by Darth Talon, who had been sent by Darth Krayt himself to capture the Princess. When the Sith Lord threatened his crew, Cade was forced to draw on his own connection to the Force in order to save them. He used the Force to drop a massive section of starship debris on Darth Talon's body, crushing her before she could do any more harm.

The Sith Lord was not dead, however, and called in reinforcements to help finish the job. In the fighting the followed, Cade frozen, remembering that fateful day on Ossus when his father was cut down and killed. His stupor was broken when Marasiah was nearly killed by one of the Sith. Drawing on his emotions and vowing that nobody else was going to die for him, Cade took up the Princess' lightsaber and attacked the Sith, holding Darth Nihl off long enough for his crew to get the Princess aboard the Mynock and ready the ship for takeoff.

Once away from Vendaxa, Cade drew on his powers to help heal the Princess, bringing her back from the brink of death. After delivering her and the other Imperials to Bastion, Cade set out on his own with Master Sazen and Shado Vao. his past.
